Recognized by The Forward in 2015 as one of "America's Most Inspiring Rabbis," Rabba Kaya Stern-Kaufman, MSW founded Rimon Resource Center for Jewish Spirituality in 2012. She was ordained in 2011 by The Academy for Jewish Religion, a pluralistic, non-denominational seminary. Rabba Kaya is a graduate of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality’s Clergy Leadership program and is a Rabbinic Fellow of Clal's Rabbis Without Borders program. She has lived in Berkshire County since 1996.

Rabba Kaya has worked throughout the Berkshire Jewish community as a Jewish educator of both children and adults, served as volunteer chaplain in local hospitals and nursing homes and officiates at life-cycle events. A co-founder of The Berkshire Minyan in 2006, she continues to participate in the leadership of services at this independent egalitarian minyan in Great Barrington.

Rabba Kaya, a former psychotherapist, focuses her teaching on reclaiming ancient Jewish spiritual wisdom for contemporary sensibilities and practical application in the service of healing humanity's relationship with one another, the earth and the Divine. Her teachings are informed by her passion for rabbinic scholarship, Jewish mysticism and her lifelong studies of psychology and Eastern spiritual traditions and practices.

Prior to her work in the Jewish community, Rabba Kaya worked as a Professional Feng Shui Consultant, having trained with several Feng Shui masters throughout the U.S. Her senior rabbinic thesis addresses the re-envisioning of synagogue space based on an understanding of ancient universal principles of sacred space applied to the design of the wilderness Tabernacle.

Rabba Kaya has taught at Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center, Limmud Boston and The Massachusetts Synagogue Council Kolot program.
